If you want to be on the winning side of this question, you choose blue.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Blue is, by far, America&#8217;s\u2019 favorite color, according to at least two surveys. A survey of 1,974 people by University of Maryland sociologist Philip Cohen that was <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.livescience.com\/34105-favorite-colors.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" aria-label=\"(Opens a new window)\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">published by Live Science website<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> showed that blue is men and women&#8217;s favorite color. Forty-two percent of the men picked blue as their favorite color compared to 25 percent for second-place green. Women favored blue 29 percent to 27 percent for purple.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A survey by academic researcher Joe Hallock had more dramatic results although only 232 people participated. In <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.joehallock.com\/edu\/COM498\/preferences.html#favcolour\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" aria-label=\"(Opens a new window)\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">this survey<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, blue was the favorite color of 42 percent of the mostly American respondents. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Green and purple tied for second at 14 percent. Like Cohen, Hallock found that men liked blue more than women. Fifty-seven percent of men chose blue compared to 14 percent who chose green. Among women, blue \u201cwon\u201d the survey 35 to 23 percent over purple (curiously, no men chose purple).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Blue also received almost no votes in Hallock\u2019s \u201cleast favorite color\u201d survey and \u201cwon\u201d the vote among all six age groups, winning five of the groups by overwhelming margins and edging out green among people 18 years old and younger.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The results of the Cohen and Hallock surveys correspond with previous surveys, according to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/amymorin\/2014\/02\/04\/how-to-use-color-psychology-to-give-your-business-an-edge\/#5696fe31170a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" aria-label=\"(Opens a new window)\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a <\/span><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Forbes<\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> magazine article<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWhen asked what their favorite color is, the most common answer around the world is blue,\u201d the article reports. \u201cThis may be because when our ancestors used to see blue \u2013 like a clear blue sky or a watering hole \u2013 it was a good sign, according to (color psychology expert Sally) Augustin.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9371\" src=\"https:\/\/startwp.logomaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/2017_FLS-Blog-Images_Blue-logos_Body_2.jpg\" alt=\"blue-logos\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a class=\"button\" href=\"https:\/\/www.logomaker.com\/get-started\">Get Started<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Why people like blue<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you own a small business or want to start one and hasn\u2019t read the first four articles of our series of articles on logos, you might be thinking \u2018so people like blue.
